Subterranean Circuits: The Detroit Tunnel Sessions

There is a version of Detroit that only reveals itself after midnight. Below the surface streets, a network of service tunnels and forgotten industrial underpasses forms a circuit that few riders ever see. On electric power, they become something else entirely — silent, echoing, and completely yours.
We spent three nights mapping the loop with a small crew and a pair of E-RS prototypes. No engine noise meant no attention. Just the hum of tires on damp concrete and the wash of a single headlight across decades-old brickwork.
The appeal of the electric platform here is obvious. Torque on demand from a standstill, zero exhaust in enclosed spaces, and a stealth that reframes the whole experience of urban riding. This is not about speed. It is about access.
If you ride these routes, ride them with respect. Leave nothing, take only footage, and never ride alone.
